Direct Ventures
On behalf of ABP, APG's Direct Ventures Team invests in relatively small but fast-growing projects and companies via direct venture investing. They target solutions that contribute to energy transition, biodiversity and circularity-related themes, with the aim of optimizing long-term returns, maximizing carbon reduction and tackling broader environmental issues. The ABP Netherlands Energy Transition & Biodiversity fund (ANEB) was established at the beginning of 2019 to help accelerate the Dutch energy transition. In 2024, the thematic scope of the mandate was broadened while it also became more focused in terms of investment style.

Our investment process

With a strong presence in the Netherlands and selective exposure across Europe, we aim to deliver long-term returns while maximizing real-world impact, including carbon reduction.
